In business you need to prove to your prospects that you are the real deal and that you’re the one that will solve their problems.

Most people try and do this by focusing on what they have to offer and go straight for the buy me now approach. Ever heard those annoying radio and TV advertisements that SCREAM at you about their special deals and amazing offers? There’s no benefit statement, there’s no proof that their claims are true and more importantly there is no evidence that what they’ve got on offer is what will work for you anyway.

There are so many people out there vying for your business, how do you know who to trust?

Trust is a very important word – how do you get this thing called ‘Trust’. Simply, by earning it. And to earn it I’ve found that people go through three stages for them to trust you before they will buy from you;

  1. Know you – by being seen and heard ie. attending and participating  at events, expos and seminars, being active on social media sites (eg. facebook, twitter and LinkedIN) and contributing to forums.
  2. Like you – by being friendly and approachable. Also by being helpful, freely answering questions, passing on referrals and sharing useful information that benefits others.
  3. Trust you – by believing in what you say is true, eg. via social proof like testimonials (written & video), photos and video of your events, you at work, your products/services and of course you and your team!

To get to the trust stage faster I suggest that you focus on proving your value and worth by getting others to help you do this! Testimonials and visual proof of what you do and how good you really are make the buying decision easier from people who know you and like you. And for those that don’t know you yet to get to know you, like you and trust you faster!

What does visual proof look like?

Here are examples of what we’ve created for our clients by capturing their events and special functions >
